Julian Parra has more than 35 years of experience in commercial banking.

 

Mr. Parra held progressive leadership positions at Bank of America, and most recently served as National Head of Commercial Banking at Western Alliance Bank. With deep experience in all aspects of credit, deposit and treasury management products, Mr. Parra has established himself as a leader in the industry, taking a solutions-based, client-focused approach to his work.

 

Mr. Parra holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Loyola University Chicago.

 

Outside of his professional role, he has served on numerous nonprofit boards focused on sustainable economic growth, including CleanTECH San Diego, World Trade Center San Diego, the Center for Advancing Global Business at San Diego State University and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation where he is the immediate past chair of the board.

 

Mr Parra has a strong belief in diversity and inclusion as an economic imperative and is focused on social mobility, talent management, workforce development and supporting minority owned businesses. He actively mentors dozens of diverse teammates. He has founded and led employee resource groups throughout his career including local chapters of Hispanic-Latino Organization for Leadership and Advancement, Black Professional Group, and Lead for Women. Mr. Parra currently serves on the boards of Junior Achievement San Diego County, the County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce and the CSU San Marcos Foundation.
