First Year & University Programs

FYS Council

Mission Statement

Who we are: First-Year &University Programs’ FYS Council is a representative body of elected FYS faculty volunteers who work in collaboration with the Director of First-Year & University Programs. 

What we do: As a representative voice for FYS faculty and FYS students, the FYS Council recommends and promotes department-wide decisions to evaluate and facilitate teaching and learning excellence in ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø's University-wide First-Year Seminar. 

Our Mission: We are dedicated to inspiring FYS students and faculty with a sense of agency at ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø and beyond.  In that, we aim to foster, in ourselves and our students alike, dynamic funds of knowledge that integrate campus expectations, lived experiences, and lifelong learning.
