Health Promotion is the profession of educating people about their health. The and the Okanagan Charter defined Health Promotion as the interconnectedness between
individuals and their environments, and recognizes that 鈥渉ealth is created and lived by people within the settings of their everyday life:
where they learn, work, play and love.鈥
As Health Educators at a University Health Center, the major responsibilities are to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion and education programs for program participants, with a broader goal of collective impact approach to cultivate health and well-being into the campus culture.
According to the , "well-being includes the presence of positive emotions and moods (e.g., contentment, happiness), the absence of negative emotions (e.g., depression, anxiety), satisfaction with life, fulfillment and positive functioning."

Our health promotion staff are available to support and assist in your health endeavors. Whether it is for a request to collaborate/co-sponsor a health related program or to request a workshop/presentation for your class, department or organization.
